About TeamUpNL
TeamUpNL is an app for finding people to play football with, at the pitch near you. The app comes from Groningen and is coming soon to iPhone and Android.
Why TeamUpNL?
You want to play football, but nobody's free. Friends are ill, studying or busy, and everyone's inside on their phone. The pitch round the corner stays empty, while there are bound to be people nearby who want to play too.
TeamUpNL brings those people together. You follow the pitches where you play, and anyone who starts a TeamUp at one of them lets you know straight away. The map shows all 13,370 football pitches that OpenStreetMap knows in the Netherlands.
Who makes TeamUpNL?
TeamUpNL is made by Taher Jerjissi in Groningen. Around a hundred people in Groningen liked the idea, and in November 2025, 68 people filled in a survey about playing sport without a buddy.
What the participants asked for is in the app now: notifications that aren't too busy, seeing who brings a ball, different levels, and reporting and blocking.
Who is behind it?
TeamUpNL is a trade name of MODEX, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 89703685, in Groningen.
